To view the contents of foo.gz without uncompressing it, use:

  • gzip -i foo.gz
  • gunzip foo.gz
  • untar -u foo.gz
  • zcat foo.gz

The bzcat command prints the contents of .bz2 files to standard output: True or False?
By default the gzip command replaces uncompressed files with compressed files. True or False?
